Immigration New Zealand offers a variety of visas that allow you to work in the country. Make sure you know which work visa is appropriate for you before you apply. The requirements and application process for each NZ visa are different. Here's a list of the five most typical work visas in New Zealand.
Long Term Skill Shortage List Work Visa
If you have the qualifications and experience required for an occupation on New Zealand's Long Term Skill Shortage List and have an offer of employment in that occupation, you may be eligible for this visa. This visa can help you get on the path to permanent residency in New Zealand by allowing you to work there.
Supplementary Seasonal Employment Work Visa
People on a student or visitor visa in New Zealand can apply for a New Zealand Seasonal Work Visa to work in the horticulture or viticulture industries on a seasonal basis. Individuals in New Zealand who hold or have held a work visa (including people who have previously held an SSE visa) are eligible to apply if they apply by March 31, 2022.
Student & Trainee Work Visa
Students who require practical work experience as part of their studies may wish to visit New Zealand. In New Zealand, medical and dental students, religious trainees, and apprentice jockeys are all eligible to study.
Partner of A Student Work Visa
Through this Partner of Student Visa NZ, you may be allowed to work in New Zealand for the same amount of time as your partner's visa allows if your partner has a student visa and supports your application. To be eligible, your partner must be pursuing a level 7 or 8 certifications on New Zealand's Long Term Skill Shortage List or a level 9 or 10 qualifications.
Religious Worker Work Visa
Religious workers with the required experience and/or training who wish to assist New Zealanders in the practice, maintenance, and advancement of their religious beliefs may apply to come to New Zealand permanently.
